As he untied his mooring rope in the dark beneath the Sea-view Bridge , he suddenly noticed a green canoe quietly approaching, which gave him goose bumps all over. Having gathered his wits, he took a closer look and noticed that the canoe had a rope attached that was floating along with it, so he guessed that what had probably happened was that the canoe had not been properly tied up and had got washed away by the flood tide.
