Kinh Biết cách tốt nhất để bắt một con rắn.

Các vị khất sĩ! Có sáu kiến xứ nghĩa là sáu loại nhận thức sai lầm nên buông bỏ. Những gì là sáu?

Bhikshus! There are six bases for views. This means that there are six grounds of wrong perception that we need to drop. What are the six?

Trước hết, là sắc thân. Dù thuộc quá khứ, vị lai hay hiện tại, dù bên trong thân của ta hay thân của bất cứ người khác, dù vi tế hoặc thô sơ, dù đẹp hay xấu, dù xa hay gần, sắc thân ấy cũng không phải là của ta, không phải là ta, cũng không phải là thần ngã. Vị khất sĩ phải biết quán chiếu để thấy được sự thật về sắc thân.

“First, there is the body. Whether belonging to the past, the future, or the present, whether they are our own bodies or the body of someone else, whether subtle or gross, ugly or beautiful, near or far, the body is not mine, is not me, is not the self. Bhikshus, please look deeply so that you can see the truth concerning the body.

“Second, there are feelings.

Thứ hai là cảm thọ.

“Third, there are perceptions.

Thứ ba là tri giác.

Thứ tư là tâm hành.

“Fourth, there are mental formations.

Những pháp ấy dù thuộc quá khứ, vị lai hay hiện tại, dù bên trong thân ta hay thân của bất cứ người khác, dù vi tế hoặc thô sơ, dù đẹp hay xấu, dù xa hay gần, đều không phải là của ta, không phải là ta, cũng không phải là thần ngã.

 Whether these phenomena belong to the past, the future, or the present, whether they are our own or someone else’s, whether they are subtle or gross, ugly or beautiful, near or far, such phenomena are not mine, are not me, are not the self.

Thứ năm là nhận thức. Những gì ta thấy, nghe, hay, biết, nắm bắt, quán sát và tư niệm, trong thời gian này hay trong thời gian khác, những thứ ấy đều không phải là của ta, đều không phải là ta, đều không phải là thần ngã.

“Fifth, there is consciousness. Whatever we see, hear, perceive, know, mentally grasp, observe, or think about at the present time or any other time is not ours, is not us, is not the self.

Thứ sáu là thế giới. Có kẻ quan niệm rằng: "Thế giới là thần ngã, thần ngã là thế giới, thế giới là ta, ta sẽ tồn tại không biến dịch sau khi chết, ta là cái vĩnh viễn không mòn diệt." Ta nên quán chiếu để thấy rằng thế giới không phải là của ta, không phải là ta, không phải là thần ngã. Quán chiếu như thế để thấy được sự thật ấy về thế giới."

“Sixth, there is the world. Some people think, ‘The world is the self. The self is the world. The world is me. I will continue to exist without changing even after I die. I am eternal. I will never disappear.’ Please meditate so you can see that the world is not mine, is not me, is not the self. Please look deeply so you can see the truth concerning the world.”
